Documentation

Learn how to use Librairie

Librairie is both an ebook reading and an ebook organizing app. This documentation is structured to teach you how to import your ebooks, manage them and then enjoy them in the app.

Choosing a cloud provider

When you launch the app for the first time, you'll be asked to choose a cloud provider. This means that you have to choose from which source your ebooks will be synced automatically in the app. The possibilities are:

  • Dropbox

  • OneDrive

  • Google Drive

  • Librairie: this one means that you'll only be able to see the ebooks that you have manually uploaded from inside the app

If you choose one of the three first options, you will then be asked to enter your credentails to allow the app to connect to your cloud account. Once this is done, the sync will be initiated. You'll be directed to the library screen while the sync is performed.
Note: the sync may take a long time if you have a lot of ebooks in your cloud account and/or the servers are busy at the moment. Anyway, you do not have to stay in the app while the sync is running and you'll receive a push notification when it's over (if you have granted the app the ability to send you notifications of course).

Library screen

This is in this screen that you will see your whole ebooks collections. You can access your ebooks either by scrolling them verticaly or by searching for their titles / author in the search field at the top. You can either navigate by tapping the letters in the right column that will send you to the first ebook starting by a given letter in the list.

Alternatively, you can have another view of your library based only of the covers of your ebooks. Just tap the 4 squares button to access to this "Collection View".

Adding ebooks

From your cloud account

If you have added ebooks in your linked cloud account since you last synced it with the app, you can retrieve those ebooks by pulling down the ebooks list from the top.

In the app

You can also import your ebooks one by one by tapping the "import" button in the top tab bar [↓]. You will be presented with a list of all the apps present on your device that you can import from. These apps have to support the iOS document provider mecanism to be in that list.

Deleting ebooks

To delete ebooks from your library, you just have to swipe to the right on an ebook to make appear a "DELETE" button. Tap on this button and the ebook will be gone from Librairie but NOT from the cloud account from which it was imported.

Alternatively, in Colletion View, long press on the book you want to delete and a confirmation dialog will appear.
